Treble Winners from last season FC Barcelona were humiliated in the first leg of the Supercopa de Espana on Friday as the Basque side thrashed the European champion 4-0.

Luis Enrique’s men surrendered a three-goal lead against Sevilla in the Uefa Super Cup earlier this week before eventually winning 5-4 in extra-time, but the European champions were not afforded such a dramatic escape this time around as their Basque hosts took them apart.

Adrian Aduriz scored a hat-trick but the headlines were stolen from him by his teammate Mikel San Jose.

Mikel San Jose made the most of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s reckless dart out of his area to head clear, finding the net from 45 yards to leave the German looking stunned.

Here is a video of that 45 yard strike:

Aduriz scored thrice after the 13 minute wonder goal from the ex Liverpool defender, which established a 4 goal lead for Bilbao which will be a huge mountain to climb for Barcelona in the second leg.

San Jose was once a Liverpool player but he could never make it to the first team of the Reds.

San Jose has 3 international caps for Spain also after having 25 youth caps for different Spanish youth set ups.
