Feyenoord fans rubbed salts on Manchester United’s wounds after they sang the anthem of arguably their fiercest rivals, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
Well, the Feyenoord fans were high in spirits throughout the match and left no chance to make the visiting team and the fans miserable. The home fans started the proceedings by singing Liverpool’s anthem but that did not dampen the spirits of United supporters as they were confident of getting a positive result from the game. However, things did not go as expected for the United fans as their team suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat.
United were looking to bounce back from the defeat they suffered at the hands of arch- rivals Manchester City last weekend but they produced one more lacklustre performance to lose their second game in a row. Anthony Martial shot going wide was the closest they could come to scoring in the first-half. New signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was on the bench, came on during the second half but could not help his team find the equaliser. With this defeat, United’s miserable away form in European matches continued. They have now lost four away games in a row.
Anyway, their misery was compounded when the Feyenoord fans once again started singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and Jose Mourinho’s facial expressions will give you the exact picture of how every United fan was feeling.
