Arsene Wenger has once again been a calm figure in the transfer window this summer with Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding the only two exciting additions to the Emirates squad in the transfer window.
However, having taken just one point from the first two games, the manager will have to try and dig hard in the transfer window for additions before the deadline day.
But one story that is coming out of the Emirates reveals that Wenger is ready to let one of his players go this summer.
The Gunners have not been very lucky with injuries to key players having lost Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista to injury even before the start of the new season.
The manager has used Rob Holding and Calum Chambers as center backs for cover and has a weak defensive set up in the squad. With European football also beckoning, the manager will have to add some players to his back line before the transfer window.
Yet, according to reports from Mail, Wenger is ready to let young Calum Chambers leave this summer, further weakening his defense.
The England U-21 international was decent in a center back role against Liverpool but with Koscielny back in the lineup, he was not a part of the game against Leicester City at the weekend.
However, it is now understood that Arsene Wegner is happy to let him leave on a loan before the deadline day even with all the defensive problems he has had recently.
It is understood that the likes of WBA, Hull City, Stoke City, and Sunderland are all interested in his signature if he is available.
A number of European clubs are also reportedly offering a permanent deal for the youngster but it is understood that Wenger does not want him to leave on a permanent basis.
It will be interesting to see how Wenger approaches the remaining days in the transfer market as he is still in search of a top class center back that does not seem to be available.
Do you think Wenger should let Chambers leave on loan this summer?
