Wenger speaks ahead of Everton match: Flamini ruled out, Cazorla, Wilshere and Ramsey to return soon

Arsene Wenger is looking to make 2 new additions to his backroom staff by signing Leicester’s head of technical scouting Ben Wrigglesworth and fellow scout Steve Walsh.

According to the report in The Daily Mail Arsenal plan to overhaul their recruitment system and Wenger has identified these two men as his main targets.

Arsene Wenger plans to increase Arsenal’s scouting presence at the domestic as well as the local level to ensure that Arsenal does not fail to identify new talent at either the senior or the youth level.

Arsenal already has a strong presence in Spain and have recently increased their scouting operations in Germany and now Wenger wants Arsenal scouts to have a global presence.

Wenger is renowned for identifying young talent and transforming unknown players into global superstars and with this move Wenger will certainly boost that reputation of his. Arsenal’s head scout Steve Rowley is expected to remain the chief scout according to the report and he will be the one who will oversee these changes.

Leicester City is second in the Premier League at present and apart from their players and manager, the Leicester scouting team is also earning a lot of praise, especially for the signings of Riyadh Mahrez and Jamie Vardy. While Vardy was signed from Conference side Fleetwood town, Mahrez was picked up from Ligue 2 side Le Havre for just £300,000k!! The two players are definitely worth more than £50m now.

Wenger has made some signings like these of his own before: Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie, Nicolas Anelka, Emmanuel Adebayor, Samir Nasri and more recently Hector Bellerin and Francis Coquelin.

Arsenal and Leicester are currently level on points at the top of the Premier League with the Gunners ahead only because of a superior goal difference.
