Arsenal’s all-time record goalscorer Thierry Henry has urged Manchester United to get Jose Mourinho on board next season because the Portuguese “guarantees success”.
Louis Van Gaal is likely to stay on as Manchester United manager till the season ends with him having Ed Woodward’s backing but his chances of staying beyond the season are as good as Chelsea’s chances of winning the title this year – IMPOSSIBLE.
Manchester United are somehow fifth in the Premier League but are unlikely to finish the season there if they carry on playing the way they have been this season and a change is needed. It has been 4 months since Manchester United scored a first half goal at Old Trafford and honestly no one expects them to score one in the next 4 months either.
Ex-Chelse, Porto, Inter Milan, Real Madrid boss Mourinho is still unemployed after being sacked by Chelsea and the former Arsenal striker feels Mourinho might be the answer for Manchester United.
“The club are crying out for success and Mourinho guarantees that, in spite of everything that happened at Chelsea this season,” Henry wrote in his column for The Sun.
“He is still an amazing coach and United have got to do something because it is simply not working for Louis van Gaal.
“If Manchester City get Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone or Jorge Sampaoli go to Chelsea, which is possible this summer, United have to react. They can’t just carry on as they are.”
Mourinho has been extensively linked with the Manchester United job for quite some time now and there were reports in the media that he is confident of landing the job in the summer. With Pep Guardiola certain to join the list of Premier League managers next season, 2016-17 promises to the best Premier League campaign in recent times.
