Manchester United have enjoyed a brilliant summer of transfers so far with Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian joining the Old Trafford club.

Next in line for Louis Van Gaal is a world-class striker who can guarantee goals up front and ensure United are there and there about when the Premier League 2015/16 season closes its finale.

Few names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, however, we believe the ideal man to carry United’s attack next season should be Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.

We have compared the rumored Manchester United striker targets Robert Lewandowski, Edinson Cavani and Karim Benzema and stats reveal why Lewandowski is the ideal striker for Manchester United.

Lewandowski scored 17 league goals last season and not only goals, he was the complete package for Bayern Munich and Pep Guardiola.

Lewnadwoski’s areal duel success ratio is second to none. The Polish striker won 64 aerial duels as compared to Cavani (9) and Benzema (21).

Only stats, which sees the Bayern Munich man get beat is chance created where Benzema (44) piped Lewandowski (32) but not by much.

Initially, the Bundesliga man was looking like beyond reach for Manchester United, however, since his agent’s remarks of bidding in excess of 35million for his client has kept the hopes alive.

According to his agent, Bayern Munich man will not come for cheap and United must bid in region of 40-50million to sign the prolific striker. Needless to say, out of the three options, Cavani looks the most hopeless option.

If Louis Van Gaal can pursue Lewandowski to sign for United, it will be a bigger coup than Schweinsteiger for sure as the Bundesliga champions do not have much cover for the Polish striker as compared to Schweinsteiger.
