Chile defeated Australia 3-1 in the FIFA World Cup B group match at the Arena Pantanal on Friday. Jean Beausejour struck late for the the South Americans who were lucky to hold on the Oz from down under and secure a comfortable win in the end. Jorge Sampaoli’s men started off brilliantly as Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez gave Chile a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute after receiving a headed pass from Eduardo Vargas. The former Udinese winger then assisted brilliantly taken strike from Jorge Valdivia to send the continetal team to raputures within just a quarter into the match.



Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill then got a goal back for the Socceroos with a well times header that found its way past Raul Bravo in the Chilean goal. Austrlia pressed hard fior an equaliser and were lucky to to still lead as Sampaoli’s men looked immensely vulberable. Juventus star Arturo Vidal was taken off at the hor mark after a suspect reignition of his existing knee injury but the Chileans held on as  substitute Beausejour secured the vidtory in injury time.
