Leaked – Manchester United star was offered bumper contract by Real Madrid

The David de Gea to Real Madrid speculations eventually died down, after the La Liga outfit failed to complete a deal with Premier League giants Manchester United towards the end of the summer transfer window. It was the Spanish goalkeeper’s dream to play at the Bernabeu and the last minute collapse might have been really sad for him. There was some controversy, as the exact reason for the deal to collapse was not really known and both clubs blamed each other.

However, it seems now that the exact reason for the move to break down has been revealed now, as the 25 year old goalie remained at Old Trafford. According to whistle-blowing website Football Leaks, the contract which was signed prior to the move to Real breaking down has now been made public for the footballing fans to see for themselves.

Back then it had seemed as if the former Atletico Madrid man was surely moving back to his native country. Despite all the speculations, the terms of the agreement failed to be agreed on deadline day, due to a problem with some of the paperwork.

The website, which had previously released the contracts of stars like Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale, Radamel Falcao, Mesut Ozil and Anthony Martial have also done the same with his deal. Currently under investigation from the Portuguese authorities for charges of blackmail, this contract was made available to the viewers. It was a six-year contract with the Spanish club and De Gea would have made €11,818,182.per year. Also, Real would have kept 50 percent of the image rights paying him almost €11m as a signing on fee, which would see him make over €80m for the full length of his stay.

The star goalie has made a total of 150 appearances for the Red Devils since joining them in 2011 and has been really impressive during his stay in England. However, which club he will choose in the near future remains to be seen.
