India will look for revenge and also their third Asian Games Gold in Hockey when they take on their arch rivals Pakistan in the men’s field Hockey finals of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games which begins at 1530 IST. In the past, both the teams have played eight times in the Asian Games finals with the men in Green coming out victorious on seven occasions. Despite their slump in world hockey, India and Pakistan still have the essence of classic pure hockey that many fanatics wish to see.

India might have won the Asian Games gold medal twice, but their record against Pakistan is not what the doctor ordered. Pakistan have won seven times against India in the Asian Games Finals and are the defending champions. Overall, Pakistan have won the Asian Games Gold for a record eighth time. And both the sides are well aware that, besides the gold medal, a direct qualification for the 2016 Rio Olympics is at stake.

Both the teams will look go all out for the 140 minutes spread over 4 quarters. It will be a dream victory for India if they manage to beat Pakistan as India are making their appearance in Asian Games final after a gap of 12 years.

India fought hard to beat hosts South Korea 1-0 and kept alive their hopes for first Asian Games gold medal in 16 years. On the other hand, Pakistan survived a stern Malaysian tests to win 6-5 win in the penalty shoot-out.
