It turned out be an historic day for India in the Asian Games as the men’s Hockey team clinched Gold in Asian Games since 1982 and within minutes after that, Indian quartet of Priyanka Pawar, Tintu Lukka, Mandeep Kaur and MR Poovamma won Gold in women’s 4*400m relay. Apart from these, India too won two more Bronze medals in Boxing. With these, India has now won 9 Golds, 9 Silvers and 37 Bronze medals and are in ninth position in the medal table. ATHLETICS

Om Prakash Singh Khurana finishes ninth in the men’s shot put finals.

Rajender Singh finishes 11th in the Men’s Javelin Throw Finals.

Preea Sridharan finishes eighth in the Women’s 5000m.

BOXING

Boxer Vikas Krishan gets bronze after losing to Zhanibek Alimkhanuly of Kazakhstan in middle (75kg) semifinal.

Satish Kumar loses to fight Ivan Dychko (UZB) in men’s super heavyweight boxing semifinal and settles for Silver.

HOCKEY

India beat Pakistan to win a Gold in the men’s Hockey category.

KABADDI

Indian women defeat Thailand with considerable ease to enter final.

Indian men defeated Korea to qualify for the Finals.

TAEKWONDO

Saurav loses to Afghanistan’s Roman Ahmed Abasi 5-4 in men’s 63kg quarterfinal.

Rekha Ranee Gogoi loses her 62kg quarterfinal bout to Chia Chia Chuang of Chinese Taipei.

Shreya Singh goes down to South Korea’s Lee Wonji in the women’s 67kg category.

TABLE TENNIS

Manika Batra beat Ma Chao (MAC) 4-0 to reach last 16 in Women’s Singles.

Ankita Das loses 2-4 to Hong Kong’s Wing Nam.

Soumyajit Ghosh loses 1-4 against North Korea’s Sinhyok Pak in Round of 16 elimination match.

Indian women lose to Hong Kong to finish eight in the event.
