The Indian men’s hockey team beat Spain 2-0 in the second match at Spain earlier today. The Indian team learnt from its mistakes from the first match and played aggressive hockey in today’s match.

In the first quarter Indians started on an aggressive note as Sunil and Akashdeep Singh exchanged good passes to set up first scoring chance for India but they were denied by the Spainsh goalkeeper who made a brilliant save. Spain also entered into the Indian circle but PR Sreejesh was upto to the mark. At the end of first quarter both teams failed to score a goal.

In the second quarter Spain had the first shot on goal when the hosts were awarded a penalty corner but Sreejesh made an excellent save. Sunil then earned India’s first penalty corner but failed to convert the chance. India scored the goal in the 2nd minute when Ramandeep Singh scored a field goal to give India 1-0 lead. Both team mounted attack on each other’s goals. At the end of 2nd quarter India led 1-0.

In the third quarter the Indian team kept the control of the match. The Indian team played attacking hockey as Akashdeep scored a brilliant goal from a Ramandeep pass to take India 2-0 lead. At the end of 3rd quarter India led 2-0.

In the 4th quarter India dominated and kept the pressure on the Spanish defense. At the end of the 4th quarter India won the match 2-0.

The final match of European tour will played on Thursday.
