Indian hockey team jumps to 5th in rankings

    After a brilliant champions trophy tournament , the Indian men’s hockey team jumped to 5th in the latest FIH rankings. The Indian team won silver medal in the recently concluded Champions trophy that was held in London. This was the first ever medal for the country in this prestigious tournament.India won a bronze medal in the last champions trophy tournament that was held in Bhuvneshwar.

    The first place is occupied by Olympic Champion Australia who won the champions trophy title in a penalty shoot-out. The second place is occupied by Holland who did not take part in the tournament.

    The third place is occupied by Germany who won bronze medal in the recently concluded champions trophy tournament. England is at number fourth in the rankings who finished 4th in champions trophy tournament.

    India jumped to 5th in the rankings after a brilliant champions trophy tournament. The team was sixth in the rankings before this tournament and a silver medal helped them to reach to this place.

    Belgium slipped to sixth in the rankings after they had a poor outing in the champions trophy tournament where they finished 5th. The seventh place is occupied by Argentina.

    The eighth place is occupied by New Zealand. They will play 6 nation tournament starting from 27th June.

    The 9th place is occupied by South Korea who finished last in the recently concluded champions trophy tournament and the final place is occupied by Pakistan who has not qualified for Rio only pics.
