The Indian Under 21 men’s hockey team drew with England 1-1 in the Vovlo International tournament played at Breda last night. It was an excellent performance by the Indians who played some great hockey by holding table toppers England.

The game started off to an aggressive start with both teams playing attacking hockey. The Indian forwards attacked but the defense was not up to the mark. In the 11th minute England was awarded a penalty corner and had it converted by Taylor. Soon after the Indians hit back with an equaliser as Nilkanta scored a brilliant field goal to level the scores at 1-1. The keepers from either sides had a great outing as both of goalkeepers saved some great goals. At the end of first half it was 1-1.

In the second half India were off to great start earning successful penalty corners. The England defense did not allow the goals to sneak. Both teams defense was strong as in the second half no more goals were scored and the teams settled for 1 point each. It was an excellent display of hockey by both teams and India did well to make a match out of it.
