New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) Hockey India (HI) on Saturday announced that National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited will be an official partner of the Hockey World League (HWL) Final.
The prestigious year-ending tournament will be played at the newly inaugurated Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel International Hockey Stadium in Raipur from November 27 to December 6.
The partnership is the third deal by HI for the HWL Final this year after securing National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) as the principal partner and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) as another official partner.
Hosts India along with Argentina, Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, Australia, Germany and Netherlands will vie for top honours at the event. “We welcome NTPC to the HI family.
NTPC Ltd. is India’s largest power company and it’s coming on board only ensures that the sport still enjoys enough interest in the corporate and public domain in India,” HI secretary general Mohd. Mushtaque Ahmad said. India begin their campaign against Argentina on November 27 in the first match of the tournament.
