Delhi Waveriders defeated Dabang Mumbai 3-1 at the Mahindra Stadium at Mumbai today. It was a average performance by Delhi Waveriders as their finishing lacked the final touches. They need to improve their performances in the upcoming matches.

In the first quarter Delhi Waveriders took the lead in the 4th minute when Simon Child hit brilliant shot from the “D” and defense lapse from Dabanag Mumbai. After that goal Mumbai tried many shots on the goal but were not successful. At the end of the first quarter it was 1-0 in favor of Delhi Waveriders.

In the second quarter Mumbai Dabang began to good start but did not enough touches in the “D” from the striker. Dabang Mumbai got a penalty corner but was well saved by Delhi Waveriders keeper. It was an attacking hockey from Dabang Mumbai was not able to convert chances into goal. At the end of 2nd quarter it was 1-0 in favor of Delhi Waveriders.

In the third quarter Dabang Mumbai started off to good start when Tom Boon hit a reverse flick shot in the 5th minute but over the goal post. Delhi Waveriders attacked well. Simon Child missed a chance. After that Akashdeep tried a shot was well saved by Adrian D Souza in the 12th minute. At the end of the 3rd quarter it was 1-0 in favor of Delhi Waveriders.

The fourth quarter began off to good start for Delhi Waveriders when Simon Child hit a shot from the pass in the 2nd minute and gave Delhi Waveriders  a 2-0 lead. After that Dabang Mumbai earned a penalty corner in the 6th minute and Harmanpreet converted the penalty corner into a goal to reduce the gap to 2-1. After that Dabang Mumbai earned a penalty corner in the 11th minute was well saved by Delhi Waveriders keeper. In the 14th minute Jason Wilson scored a goal and gave Delhi Waveriders a 3-1 lead. At the end of fourth quarter it was 3-1 in favor of Delhi Waveriders.

By winning this Delhi Waveriders is in the third place in the points table with 15 points while Dabang Mumbai has perform much better in the upcoming matches.
