After winning two medals on Day 1, India won yet another medal in shooting, this time in men’s 10 m Air Pistol team event. Indian trio of Jitu Rai, Samaresh Jung and Prakash Nanjappa narrowly missed out on the silver as they were a X less than China and settled for Bronze. Apart from shooting, Indian squash hopefuls Dipika Palikkal and Saurav Goshal sealed a Bronze in theie respective singles category.Saina Nehwal led Women’s Badminton team too sealed a medal in the women’s team event. Badminton: 

Saina Nehwal gives India an early advantage by winning the first tie of the women’s team Semi Finals.

Basket Ball:

Saudi Arabia beat India 73-67 in men’s Group B clash.

Equestrian:

Rajendra Shubhsri, Vanita Malhotra, Shruti Vora, Nadia Haridass failed to qualify in the women’s Dressage Individual Intermediate I.

Football:

Thailand beat India 10-0 in the women’s Group A match.

Handball: 

Korea beat India 39-19 in the men’s Group D match.

Thailand is leading India 18-16 in women’s Group A match.

Hockey:

Indian men beat Sri Lanka 8-0 in a Pool B match.

Rowing:

Sawarn Singh failed to qualify to the finals of men’s singles Skull. 

Shooting:

Jitu Rai finished fifth in the finals of men’s 10 m Air Pistol event.

Jitu Rai, Samaresh Jung and Prakash Nanjappa won Bronze in men’s 10 m Air Pistol team event.

Manavjit Sandhu and Mansheer Singh failed to qualify for the Semi Finals of the men’s trap event.

Squash:

Dipika Pallikal qualifies for the Quarter Finals after defeating India’s Joshna Chinappa 7-11 11-9 11-8 15-17 11-9 in the women’s QF clash.

Saurav Goshal qualifies for the Semi Finals after defeating Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal 11-6, 9-11, 11-2, 11-9 in the men’s QF clash.

Swimming:

Aaron D’Souza finished with 4th in Men’s 200m Butterfly Heat 1.

Prathapan Nair finished 7th in Men’s 100m Backstroke Heat 3.

Saurabh Sangvekar finished 5th in Men’s 200m Freestyle Heat 4.

Tennis:

India defeated Nepal 3-0 in a men’s second Round.
