India began their Day 6 of the 2014 Asian Games by winning two successive Bronze medals in Rowing courtesy Swaran Singh and Indian men’s 8 team event. Swaran won the bronze medal in Men’s Single Sculls Final A.  The medal is second in rowing after Dushiant Dushyant won the bronze medal in Lightweight Men’s Single Sculls on Wednesday. 

Swaran Singh Virk bagan strongly in Men’s Single Sculls Final A but South Korea’s Dongyong Kim overtook him for a Silver in the last phase of the race. Mohsen Shadinaghadeh of Iran won the gold medal finishing the race in 7:05.66 time. Swaran Singh clocked a time of 7:10.65 to finish third while Kim of South Korea took 7:06.17 to finish the race.

Later India finish third to win the bronze medal in Men’s Eight Final A and added the country’s 13th Bronze in the Asian Games. China won the Gold and Japan settled for Silver after overtaking India in the last few metres of the race.
