The Indian challenge in group D today raised some hope as Mouma Das defeated Ms Mohamed Ala easily of Quatar in three sets at 11/4, 11-8 and 11-2 this evening. In the morning both of them had lost first match.

In the women’s section, Indian Poloumi Ghatak finds herself in Group C with world number five Japanese Ishikawa Kasumi, Korean Seo Hyowon (ranked 10) and Yu Mengyu of Singapore who is currently ranked 12th. The other Indian girl in the fray, Mouma Das will face stiff challenge from Shashavari Neda of Iran, Mohamed Ala from Quatar and Komwong Nathana from Thailandin group B. 
The highest ranked women in the tournament, world number three Liu Shiwen of China has been placed in Group A with Fukuhara Ai of Japan (ranked 5), Yang Haeun of Korea (ranked 19) and Do Hoi of Hong Kong (ranked 33).

This evening the first game saw Das scoring first 3 points and Ala equaling at 3 all. Das moved to 6-4 lead quickly and further strengthened her game to win the game at 11-4

The second game was a bit better contested as both scored almost one point each unit it was 7 all. From there on Mouma moved quickly to 8-7, 9-7, 10-8 and finally won at 11-8

The third game was a one sided affair. Das started and scored 5 points in a row. Qatar player scored 2 points and then Das sealed the game scoring continuously and won the game 11-2.

This victory gives an chance to qualify next round though she will face a challenging opponent.
