MC Mary Kom, The Five Time World Champion and the 2014 Asian Games Gold Medalist, has officially decided to quit boxing after 2016 Olympics. The news came during her Box-Out Campaign, held in IIT Delhi on March 2nd, 2015.

It has been said that after retirement, she will focus on her Boxing Academy in her native state of Manipur where, as she said before, her aim would not only be to produce boxers from Manipur but from all over India.

Here are some of the notable achievements of MC Mary Kom’s career:

-> At the age of 18, she won the silver medal in the World Amateur Boxing Championship

-> Escalated herself to the top of the podium of the 45 Kg category in the 2002 Antalya World Amateur Boxing Championship.

-> Won the Bronze medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics held in London.

-> Won the Gold medal in the 2011 Asian Women’s Cup and 2012 Asian Women’s Championships.
