The hosts took on the debutants, U.P. Yoddha in match eight of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League 2017. Telugu Titans started off their season with a win but then two back to back losses gave the Titans some worry signs.

The team from Uttar Pradesh had the costliest player in the history of Pro Kabaddi, Nitin Tomar and he started off with a point in his very first raid but his counter part Rahul Chaudhari equaled things up.

The first half was full of tough competition, as nothing was there to differentiate much between the two teams. For their debut, U.P. Yoddha were magnificent in the first -half and U.P. Yoddha were leading after the end of the first half by one point margin, with the scores at 12-11 in favor of the visitors.

The team making their debut got the first all out of the match, leaving the point deficit to nine with 10 minutes remaining on the clock. The hosts tried their best for a comeback with the help of some brilliance from the captain Rahul Chaudhari and the defense.

In the closing minutes, Nilesh Salunke and Rahul Chaudhari came very close to scoring a super raid but the defense of Uttar Pradesh was too good to get past for the Titans.

U.P. Yoddha started off their journey in the three -months long tournament with a thumping victory over Telugu Titans, with the final score of 31-18 in favor of Uttar Pradesh.
