There are many theories about India not winning too many medals at the Rio Olympics. India at Rio Olympic only won silver medalists PV Sindhu and bronze medalist Sakshi Malik. But there is another girl who received attention and accolades from sporting fraternity of India and the world because of her dangerous attempt of Pardunova in Rio. Dipa Karmakar, India’s first women gymnast, who brought his state Tripura on the world map, received an award from her own country’s President Pranav Mukherjee.
While the medal tally might not have been great, it was and is still a proud moment for our country and fellow Indian Olympians. And one amongst them was Abhinav Bindra, out first Olympics individual event gold medalist, who was full of praise for the ladies.
Bindra finished fourth in the 10-meter air rifle. He has won the 2008 gold medal for India and made proud the country. He is now a well-respected man in India.
While the three women who made us proud at the Olympics received grand welcomes and felicitations, one particular individual had a question for our ace shooter.
“Abhinav Bindra Bro why are you missing in all facilitations happening in Delhi? If Deepa is getting such a reception then why to cant you?,” a twitter user named Jasdeep asked Bindra.
Now Bindra replied and showed why people in India respect him.
@jasdeep204 she is a path breaker in gymnastics and I’m happy that she is getting much deserved attention. I had my moment in 2008
