Rio de Janeiro, Aug 20 (IANS) India golfer Aditi Ashok finished her maiden appearance at the Olympics with a five over 76 — taking her cumulative score to seven over 291 after 72 holes — after the fourth round here on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, who had shot successive rounds of three under 68 over the first two days of competition, was eventually placed 41st at the end of her final round.

Korean Inbee Park with a score of 268 clinched the gold while New Zealand’s Lydia Ko scored 273 for the silver, and China’s Shanshan Feng, with a cumulative score of 274 settled for the bronze.

    The IANS was founded by Indian American publisher Gopal Raju as the India Abroad News Service. It was later renamed the Indo-Asian News Service.
