New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Communications Manoj Sinha on Friday unveiled commemorative postage stamps on the Rio Olympic Games here and said the unique initiative will motivate Rio-bound Indian athletes.

Issuing stamps on wrestling, badminton, shooting and boxing sports, the minister said the Department of Posts had always issued special stamps on important occasions to rekindle the spirit of patriotism.

He said a record number of players from India are participating in Rio this time around.

Sinha said by issuing these stamps, the attention of the countrymen will be drawn towards the world sporting event.

Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel joined Sinha in unveiling the stamps in the presence of senior officials.
