Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey is among the dozens of celebrities who have travelled to the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to enjoy the 2016 Olympic Games.

McConaughey and his Brazilian wife, Camila Alves, have been spotted at Olympic venues and strolling around the city, reports Efe.

The Academy Award winner watched American swimmer Michael Phelps win another medal and was present to cheer the US athletes in beach volleyball, table tennis, judo and rugby.

Oscar-winning British actor Eddie Redmayne, wife Hannah Bagshawe and their young daughter are also in Rio for the Games.

Elizabeth Banks, seen in “The Hunger Games,” is supporting the US gymnastics and basketball teams, while compatriot Leslie Jones, a “Saturday Night Live” regular, is part of NBC’s television coverage of the event.

Former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, 86, the second man to set foot on the moon, has also come to Rio with his family.

Prince Albert of Monaco, who attended the opening ceremony, stayed on in Rio for several days to watch Phelps in action at the aquatic centre.
