Rio de Janeiro, Aug 13 (IANS) Men’s Olympic diving event has always been a popular one, with the competitors’ hot bodies in the tiniest of Speedo trunks at the display.

But thanks to the strategically placed scorecards making them appear naked, the temperature has been soaring on the social media.

The Twitterati were having a field day posting pictures of the divers appearing completely naked because of the on-screen scoreboards that tend to cover their groin area.

“One of the best parts of the Olympics is when the men’s diving scores accidentally cover the athletes’ Speedo’s and make them all look naked,” tweeted American actress Kira Kosarin.

Sharing Kira’s thought another user said: “Why is diving my favourite? Cause the bar on the bottom of the screen looks like they’re naked and it makes me giggle.”

However, there are still some who wondered if the divers were actually naked and hailed the broadcasters for censoring.

“It’s so weird for these Olympic divers to dive in the nude. Bravo to NBC figuring out a way to censor the nudity,” said another Twitter user.

Australian rowers get different attention!

The Australian men’s rowing team won silver at the Rio Games but the quadrate of Karsten Forsterling, Alexander Belonogoff, Cameron Girdlestone and James McRae were not getting the attention for their sporting abilities but rather for their physical attributes.

Posing in their light green super-tight uniforms that leaves nothing to one’s imagination, the focus of the viewers shifted from the sporting triumph to their physical “attributes”.

The picture has now gone viral on social media with a host of users, mostly females, coming out with hilarious and nasty comments.

Rio in one bid.

From the national flag carried by the athletes during the opening ceremony to podiums and match balls autographed by superstars, sports buffs can take home exclusive items of the Rio 2016 Games through the official auction website.

With 11,000 memorabilia pieces, such as objects used at the opening and closing ceremonies, sports buffs were spoilt for choice to take home a piece of Olympic history.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games memorabilia is a global tradition. Collectors who acquire the items become guardians of history and carry the legacy of the Games back home.
