Star Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt kept his hopes of winning three gold medals at Rio Olympics alive by winning the 200m gold in 19.78 seconds.

He  becomes the first man in history to win both 100m and 200m titles at three consecutive Olympics but failed in beating his own world record of 19.19 he set at the Berlin world championships in August 2009. This was the Jamaican’s 13th individual world or Olympic sprint title from a possible 14 since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Canada’s Andre De Grasse  claimed the silver medal and Frenchman Christophe LeMaitre took bronze.

As expected Twitterati went berserk after yet another Bolt show. Here are some of the reactions:

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
