British no.1 Andy Murray has said that he will donate 50 pounds ($78) for every ace he hits during the remaining part of the season to help the cause of the refugees.
Murray, who is playing for Britain in this week’s Davis Cup semifinals against Australia in Glasgow, decided on the idea after seeing images of migrants coming to Europe on the news.
His donations will be matched by one of his sponsors, along with the ATP and the LTA, making each ace worth 200 pounds ($311).
”I felt I had to do something to help the millions of children and their families who have been forced to flee their homes” and that ”I’ll get that little bit more satisfaction from each ace I hit” said Murray
The world no.3 said that the aces will be counted from now on until the end of the year.
