Wrist Injury has been ruining the 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin Del Potro for some years now and the Argentinian is finding it hard to return to competitive tennis.

Recently Juan Martin Del Potro made a shocking announcement that he has parted with his long time coach  Franco Davín, as well as his physical trainer Martiniano Orazi. Del potro has been working with Davin since 2008 and under his guidance he has won 13 ATP titles during the period of 2009-2014 along with US Open and an Olympic bronze medal. Del Potro has also worked with physical trainer Martiniano Orazi since 2008. However, clear reason has not been given from the Argentinian but he has released a statement on his official Facebook account.

This is what the Argentinian had to say:

“Hello everyone. I wanted to tell you that Franco and Martiniano are no longer part of my team. I’m really grateful for the years we’ve worked together and I wish them the very best. I’m also thankful to their families for their warm support that goes beyond tennis.”

“I’ve spent some tough weeks and months. Some sad days, some dark days. Not much light at the end of the tunnel because of my serious wrist injury,”. Del Potro said.
“But the good part of the story is, I don’t give up.”
“If there’s one thing I want to do is to fight for what I love and that is to play tennis”, he concluded.

Del Potro is currently rehabilitating his wrist. On July 1st he had the stitches from his cast removed and will use a splint for the ‘next few weeks’. Due to being sidelined from the tour, he has fallen down to 569th in the world rankings.
