Rafael Nadal will play at the bet-at-home open, Hamburg says the tournament director Michael Stich. The Spaniard’s presence was doubtful earlier but Nadal confirmed his participation at the bet to open recently. The last time when Nadal played at Hamburg in 2008 he defeated Roger Federer in the finals 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-3.

We are thrilled that the best clay court player of all time is coming to us, said the former world number two. Of course there are some financial risks, but players like Nadal always attract spectators.

Nadal has been participating in all possible tournaments to get back his form but the participation in Hamburg has been a question but Nadal has decided to play the tournament in order to overcome his disastrous loss at Wimbledon. Nadal has returned to Hamburg after a gap of 7 years.

2015 has been an unforgettable year so far for the Spaniard with just winning two lower ranked tournaments at Buenos Aires and Stuttgart. With no points to defend further in 2015, it is all gains for the world no 10 to get back his game and confidence back. Nadal earlier said that getting to the World tour finals is his main goal. With Nadal being the second seed, his fellow countrymen David Ferrer is ranked the top seed at the event. However, the Spaniard would hope this would be the turnaround for the Spaniard for the rest of the season.

The bet-at-home open begins on 27th of July.
