Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis, top seeds, defeated Chinese sisters Taipei duo Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan in straight sets of 6-2, 6-1 in just 53 minutes in the last four clash and enter finals of Wuhan Open Championship on Friday the 2 October 2015 in capital of central China’s Hubei Province. So did the unseeded pair of Romanian pair of Irina-Camelia Begu and Monica Niculescu to challenge them in the Finals today.
Sania and Hingis the No.1 seeds brushed aside the challenge of No.4 seeded Chinese Taipei duo of Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan 6-2, 6-1 in just 53 minutes. The Chineses sisters had won over the no 1 seeds the Western & Southern Open and also threatened to win as Hingis and Mirza trailed the 0-5 in the quarterfinals of the US Open but dropped more games to lose 6 (5)- 7 and 1-6. Sania and Hingis won 53 of the 88 total points and converted five of the 10 break points received in a completely one-sided affair.
Camelia Begu-Niculescu defeated Czech Republic’s Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka. The match was extended to the third set and they won finally with the scores reading 6-4, 1-6 and 10-8.
Sania-Martina recently won the Guangzhou Open. They have won an impressive six titles together including triumphs at Wimbledon and US Open and are heading for the seventh title of the season tomorrow.
