The US Open is all set to begin today and already the Women’s section of Tennis has done wonders as the tickets for entire two weeks is sold out completely whereas the men’s section is yet to be sold out fully which is a record for the first time.

Although the home crowd will be cheering for Serena Williams as she is chasing her calendar grand slam. Sharapova has withdrawn from the tournament which will make the tournament less interesting as she is one of the fierce competitors on court.

Apart from the certain top seeds there are some women’s tennis stars to look forward in the US Open 2015:

Belinda Bencic:

The 18 year old from Swiss is the latest sensation in tennis and her results in the build-up tournaments to US Open has been immense beating many of the top seeds. She had an excellent run in Rogers cup Toronto beating many top seeds to reign in that event and raised her ranking to no 12 in the world. She earned 900 points in that WTA point beating Bouchard, Wozniacki, Lisicki, Ivanovic, Serena Williams, Halep. She is certainly one of the players to look out for and top seeds would vary of her.

Eugenie Bouchard:

Bouchard after a successful 2014 has been horrible to say the least in the 2015 season suffering several first round exits and poor results. She suffered a second round exit at the Western and Southern open and first round exit at Rogers cup which would dent her confidence considerably. The 25 seeded Canadian recently appointed one of the greats Jimmy Connors as her coach to improve certain aspects in her game and would be looking to change the fortunes in this very event at Flushing Meadows.

Sabine Lisicki:

The German hasn’t been immensely successful in 2015 and will be eyeing to deliver her best and this would be the best tourney for her. Her service is a big weapon in her arsenal and US Open hard courts will certainly suit her playing style. Although her results has been inconsistent his year the world no 25 will be one of the players to watch out for.

Ana Ivanovic:

Ivanovic who is seeded no.5 has been up and down in the 2015 season. After reaching the semis of the French Open she had a tough going in Wimbledon and rest of the events. Ivanovic managed to reach the quarters at Rogers cup and Western and Southern open but she couldn’t deliver her best post the quarters. Ivanvoic can be a dark horse at the US open and has the capability to cause any upset in the tourney.

Agnieszka Radwanska:

Radwanska’s best result came at Wimbledon this year reaching the semis. Apart from that Radwanska’s form has been a huge concern. Her build up to the tournament also hasn’t been up to the mark and has her work cut out at US Open. Radwanska managed to reach the quarters of Rogers cup but suffered a first round exit at Cincinnati. Radwanska on her day can take down any top seeds at the event and one can hope for a big come back from the Polish woman.
