Arsenal will be making the trip to the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, as they look to turn around the 2-0 deficit against Barcelona in the first leg at the Emirates and go through to the next round of the Champions League. It will not be an easy game by far as the champions of Europe are a top side and the Gunners will have be to at their very best, if they want to have any hopes of pushing through for a win and reaching the next round.
The plan last time looked good, though it eventually failed as the home side failed to capitalize on their chances and were once again caught on the break. This time around, manager Arsene Wenger has some major problems with injuries once again, as his stars like Petr Cech, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, will not be available for selection due to various injuries that they picked up in other matches. Further, the boss gave an update on the fitness of center-back Laurent Koscielny, who was also an absentee in the recent matches played.
Here is what the Arsenal boss had to say in his pre-match presser prior to this huge clash away from home:
Talking about Barcelona and Spain’s midfield sensation Andres Iniesta, he said, “Iniesta is one of the greatest players produced by Barcelona.”
“About making history at the Nou Camp by securing a first win he added, “We have won everywhere in Europe, but not here yet.”
“The players are united to give a strong performance.”
Further, Wenger said, “We are in a position where we don’t have to calculate too much. We know we have to attack and score goals. We have gone through a disappointing spell and it is important to remain calm and strong.”
Demanding a solid performance at the back, he added, The magicians from Barcelona will demand a good defensive performance from our side.”
