Sakshi Dhoni Wishes Husband MS Dhoni A Happy Birthday

  • As Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 36th birthday on Friday (July 7), the social media was flooded with birthday wishes for India’s most decorated skipper till date and one of those thousands of messages were from none other than Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni.

Sakshi took to Instagram to leave a special message for her husband on his special day. Posting a picture of Dhoni along with daughter Ziva, she wrote:

    “The caption says “Happy Bday @7781 !! #saathsaatheksaath !

She also posted a couple of pictures of the birthday celebration. The couple is currently in West Indies where Team India is playing limited-overs series with the home side. Virat Kohli & Co. have won the five-match series by 3-1 and will now look to finish the tour on a high by winning the one-off T20 to be played on Sunday (July 9).

Here are a couple of pictures from Dhoni’s birthday celebration:

Earlier this week on Tuesday (July 4), Dhoni and Sakshi completed seven years of their marriage. The couple had tied the knot in 2010, one year before MS Dhoni led the Men in Blue to the World Cup glory.

Dhoni, meanwhile, is going through a tough time right now. The wicketkeeper batsman, who stepped down as India’s limited-overs skipper earlier this year, had started 2017 on a good note, slamming his first ODI hundred since 2013 when he scored 134 against England in Cuttack. He also scored his maiden T20 International half-century against England in the same series.

But he recently drew widespread criticism for scoring India’s slowest fifty in 16 years when he scored 54 runs off 114 balls against West Indies in the fourth ODI. India had gone on to lose the match by 11 runs while chasing a modest 190 and Dhoni was targetted by many for his slow knock and the failure to take the team over the line despite being on the crease till the 49th over.
