Remember when renowned novelist and columnist Shobhaa De questioned the commitments of Indian Olympians at Rio saying they just go their to take selfies and how it’s such a waste of money and opportunity? At that time India were still medal-less and De took to Twitter to vent her frustration and took a jibe at the athletes.

Well, looks like her words are going to haunt her for long because no one has forgotten them. India finally won a medal thanks to wrestler Sakshi Malik who won a bronze. The very next day,PV Sindhu ensured India of another medal by qualifying in the final of women’s badminton. Shobhaa De then again took to Twitter to wish the shuttler. However, the fans who still remember that humiliating tweet trolled her brutally.

Here are the tweets by Shobhaa De:

Here is  how the Twitterati trolled her:

Even  Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan could not stop himself from taking a dig:

An avid sports lover, i always wanted to pursue a career in football. But just like the millions out there i did not put in the hard work needed to achieve my dream and now i have become a fan instead of the player. Anyway, writing for sports has kept me closer to this field. One more thing, yours sincerely is a die-hard Liverpool fan. You will never walk alone.
