Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Pradesh Congress President Kishore Upadhyay was present at the event.
This was the very first time that a wrestling event has taken place in Uttarakhand as part of the chief minister’s youth outreach programme entitled ‘CM4Youth’ in the lines of WWE. The event was organised by the Bharatiya Samajik Seva Sansthan.
It was reported earlier that The Great Khali suffered serious injuries in a wrestling event that was named after him in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on Wednesday. In the midst of his fighting with Canadian wrestler Brody Steele, he was attacked from behind by two other wrestlers with some chair shots to his head and back. He started bleeding and shaking visibly on the spot.
He was immediately taken to the nearby medical facilities, and later being airlifted to Dehradun for further observations. After getting released from the hospital he vowed to get his revenge when he stated, “There is a fire burning inside me and I am embarrassed that I let my fans down in Haldwani, But I request you all to come on 28th in Dehradun and watch me give it back to them. I will fight despite what the doctors say and promise to take revenge.”
