  • With some exciting matches on the card, the 2016 edition of WWE Battleground was solid to make a proper build up towards the biggest pay-per-view of the summer i.e. Summerslam. It had lived up to all the hypes.
The former Shield members competed in a triple threat match for the WWE Championship at Battleground. The current titleholder Dean Ambrose defended and retained the title against his former brethren, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins.
