Okay let me be honest and answer this question by one single word; ‘No’. Batista vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania XXX for the World Heavyweight championship as the main event of the show….. you have got to be kidding me.
I can give you a lot of reasons why this match can never be best for business. I do not know, I seriously don’t how the creative thought just a one on one match between Batista and Randy Orton be enough to highlight the main event of WrestleMania. Come on man, it is WrestleMania, the grandest stage of them all. How can Batista vs. Randy Orton be the main event of the show?
Here my reasons why I think this is terrible for business; first of all, and the most obvious reason, most of the fans do not like Batista. Whether he turns heel or remains face, fans do not like him. I seriously did not remember fans to boo any superstar so loud like they are doing in case Batista. The last time they booed some superstar like this was Mohammed Hassan. And they booed him because of different matters.
Second reason is; these two superstars have fought so many times before. Two superstars who fought each other a lot of times before can never be an anticipated match as the main event of WrestleMania (please do not compare it Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker or Stone Cold vs. The Rock, this match cannot even compared to those shadows). Even if they add a good stipulation, it can still not be good enough for the main event of WrestleMania. Every time I saw the reactions of the fans on social Medias over this match, I always notice their disappointment.
The other reason is, Batista has lost his touch, which we have all noticed just after his return. Well, Batista was never a tremendous superstar, and nowadays, he does not even close to a good professional wrestler. I am sure if Fandango or Jinder Mahal are given such opportunities, they will perform better than him.
I am seriously doubtful if Batista can make fans excited at WrestleMania. A main event of WrestleMania means a minimum time of twenty minutes battle. Do you really think Batista can make it? I have total faith in Randy Orton, but sorry to say, not in Batista.
Still, there is a way to way this match to make best for business. If CM Punk seriously returns, and if he returns before WrestleMania, he can be added into this match by making by this a triple threat match. And this is only way to make things interesting, yes, it will be really interesting if done. But unfortunately, there is a very fat possibility of that. It looks like we have to be happy with just Randy Orton vs. Batista.
