Last Minute Change Of Plans For Superstar Shakeup; Former WWE Champion Upset With It

A total of twenty superstars changed brand in the superstar shakeup process. Among them there were six main eventers and upper mid cards. But that was not what it supposed to be.
We all heard rumors before that the major plan for the shakeup was to put AJ Styles on Raw and replace him with Roman Reigns on Smackdown. Even Dave Meltzer reported it;
“the key moves would be Roman Reigns to Smackdown and A.J. Styles to Raw. This was months ago. This past week we were told that Reigns isn’t going anywhere and the key moves were said to be Styles to Raw and The New Day to Smackdown.”
But every speculation went wrong after the shakeup took place. Neither AJ Styles moved Raw nor Roman Reigns moved to Smackdown. Fans were left confused and forced to think if all the previous news were false.
WrestleTalkTV reported that the actual plan was to switch Roman Reigns and AJ Styles until last week when WWE were forced to change the decisions. Because if Roman moved to Smackdown then Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar who are currently involved in feuds with Roman Reigns would also have to move to Smackdown. This is the reason they had to change the plan.
Instead, they switched Bray Wyatt from Smackdown to Raw. PWInsider reported that Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship was originally scheduled for the Smackdown-exclusive pay-per-view Backlash in Chicago. But now, they will face off at Payback as Bray Wyatt is a part of Raw.
Wrestling News World reported; “the distrust between Bray Wyatt and WWE continues to grow. Bray was caught very off guard when he was told he was being moved to Raw as he’d just been told the week before he’d be feuding with Orton and regaining the title this summer.”
It is a little shocking that Bray Wyatt was not even told about the move. But whatever outcome we had from the shakeup was even better than it rumored to be. Hopefully, we will now see better shows.
