Former World Heavyweight champion The Great Khali is reportedly no longer a member of the WWE roster as the company decided not to renew the contract of the ‘Punjabi Playboy’ which expired recently.

Sources within WWE confirmed to and on Friday that Dalip Singh Rana, who is known as the Great Khali, is no longer with the organization after his profile on was transferred to the Alumni section on Thursday.

It was noted to both websites that the 42-year-old’s contract expired this past week and company officials opted not to renew it.

The Great Khali aka Dalip Singh Rana joined World Wrestling Entertainment more than eight years ago on 2006. He debuted against the Undertaker when the Dead Man was having a one on one match against ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ Mark Henry. The Great Khali entered and beat down Undertaker. On the following pay per view event which was Judgment Day, Khali defeated the Undertaker.

Previously, Khali worked in other two promotions, they are All Pro Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling. At NJPW, he won the Teisen Hall Six-Man Tournament in 2002 with Masahiro Chono and Giant Silva.

Khali had a feud with Undertaker’s half brother Kane in 2007 whom Khali defeated at the grandest stage of them all WrestleMania 23.

On the same year, Khali won the World Heavyweight championship after he won twenty man battle royal on a taping of Smackdown for the vacated World Heavyweight championship. The title was vacated after the champion Edge picked up an injury and could not continue his actions.

After that, Khali’s career moved on with two big feuds; the first was for the WWE championship against John Cena and the next one was against the Game Triple H. Khali lost both feuds and unfortunately, he was not able to satisfy the fans.

Khali had a downfall after that. He had a face turn and went on being the Punjabi Playboy from the Punjabi Giant. He had a several health problems in the later stage. He had a major surgery on 2012 as he had a tumor on his pituitary gland.

The forty two year old had several other achievements in his life and career. He appeared in three Hollywood feature films which were The Longest Yard, Get Smart and MacGruber. He appeared in a couple of Indian films as well. He also had an appearance on the French film Sur la piste du Marsupilami.
