We did not see a WrestleMania match card in quite a long time where a number of titles are not being defended. The Intercontinental title and the United States title do not look like to be defended at the 30th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

We cannot say if it was a very wise move not to add these titles on the frame, especially, the United States championship. The United States champion Dean Ambrose did not defend his title in quite a long time, neither he has been seen defending his title enough. So it should have been defended at WrestleMania XXX.

Earlier plan for this title was different. WWE planned to build a triple threat match between the champion Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, which would have been a great and pretty anticipated match. But for some reason (maybe they did not want to split the Shield so soon) they decided not to build this match. And they were given a feud against the Director of Operations Kane. And at WrestleMania XXX, the Shield would face The Big Red Machine Kane and The New Age Outlaws in a six man tag team match.

Plans for the Intercontinental championship also changed for a couple of times. The first plan was to build a rivalry between the WWE Intercontinental champion Big E and the Real Americans, and they would face each other at the Grandest Stage of them All in a triple threat match.

But it had to be changed too as all these three superstars have been given one spot each into the Andre the Giant memorial Battle Royal. The rivalry could not be continued either.

Later, WWE tried to build up a rivalry between Big E and Christian for the title which also had to stop because of the concussion problem that Christian recently picked up.

The angle has now turned to Alberto Del Rio, last week on Monday Night Raw, he defeated the Intercontinental champion in a non title match. Still, there is a fat chance of the Intercontinental title to be defended at ‘The Showcase of the immortals’ since both superstars are involved in the Andre the Giant memorial. You would not see anyone who is competing on that Battle Royal fighting another match on the same night.

But there is still an option to make both titles on the line. For the intercontinental title, it is quite obvious, just give it a championship match. For the United States title, make the six man tag team match a title match where the superstars who wins the pinfall wins the title. Such tag team matches for a single championship was seen before and such matches are really very interesting to see.

But we do not think any of the titles would be listed. Whatever we said are just the possibilities. So let us hope for the best.
