Daniel Bryan has been doing a great job as the General Manager of Smackdown Live. Since taking retirement in February, he was going through depression for leaving wrestling. But unfortunately he had no choice since it has been prescribed by the doctor.
However, the WWE came up with a solution as they chose him to act as the General Manager of Smackdown during the WWE Draft. He’s been a great boost to the show which already lacks star power in comparison to Monday Night Raw but that might not long last as he is expecting a baby with Brie Bella, next year.
Recently, Daniel Bryan appeared on the Sam Roberts’ wrestling podcast to indicate he might leave Smackdown once he becomes a father. It’ll be difficult for him to stay away from his baby for a longer period. Here’s what he had to say,
“Once we have the baby that is the tough part. It’s like, man, do I really want to leave the baby…; there are times on SmackDown that I don’t even want to be on it. I only want to be on it when it’s absolutely necessary for me as the GM to be out there.”
It was during the Total Bellas show when he revealed doing the job of Smackdown GM was not his original choice. But he is under contract with the WWE until 2018 and hence he had not any choice but to perform for them.
He also said Brie Bella wants to get back into the ring for one last time next year. The baby is expected during the month of April. So, Brie wants to be back into the ring for Summerslam. She’ll not be there for full-time. It might turn out to be a one-off match depending on the situation.
