WWE/Impact News: Austin Aries Contacted by Impact Wrestling to Return

Austin Aries has always been considered as one of the most experienced and technical wrestlers present in the entire pro-wrestling industry. He has a vast experience of competing under a variety of wrestling promotions around the world that make him the ‘greatest man lived on planet earth’. It is a justified gimmick for the man.

Earlier, he had enjoyed a short stint in the WWE, as well. He joined the brand as part of the NXT roster. After suffering a hernia injury, he got involved in the commentary desk on Monday Night Raw. Before the Wrestlemania 33 event, Neville started a stretched rivalry against him over the Cruiserweight Championship which was the prime time for him.

Since he was unable to capture the gold from Neville and not happy with the creative planning around him, he left the WWE. Even before coming to the company he was the main event star at the TNA Impact Wrestling promotion. So, it is likely that the veteran wrestler was not happy with his position on the lightweight division and not on the main roster.

In recent times, Austin Aries opened up about the Impact Wrestling promotion contacting him for coming back under their wings. It was disclosed on the podcast hosted by former WWE superstar; Sean Waltman named Sean Waltman on his X-Pac12360 podcast when he discussed his time being with his former employer.

Impact creative wanted him to start a third stint in the company after his contract with WWE expired in July. But, he was not interested in working under one banner. He also informed the previous owner, Dixie Carter about the same while leaving the brand. So, he chose to perform on the indie scenes, rather. Check out his further comments,

“I know where I am right now in my career and all the possibilities and things I have in front of me, I really couldn’t invest myself emotionally into that because let’s be honest they’ve got a lot of work to do there.”

Aries had his first stint with TNA from 2005 to 2007 and the second one that spanned from 2007 from 2011. During these two runs, he managed to become the TNA world champion and a tag team champion, once and the X-division champion on six different occasions. If recent updates from social media are to be believed then he will be seen on the upcoming weeks’ TV taping of Impact Wrestling as the main-event attraction.
