Women’s Money in the Bank contract for Smackdown women’s championship

The PPV opened with the historic Money in the Bank ladder match for the women’s division. The five women tore the house down with numerous moves. Becky Lynch was about the grab the briefcase following the mayhem. But, James Ellsworth pushed her off the ladder.

Later, he started to climb the ladder and no one came in to stop him leading him to grab the briefcase and hand it down to Carmella. The referees looked confused and discussed the outcome of the match. After taking everyone’s opinion, the official finally declared Carmella as the winner of the first women’s Money in the Bank briefcase holder.

The Usos vs. The New Day (Smackdown tag team championships)

The Smackdown tag team titles were defended next in a solid match-up between The Usos and The New Day. Big E and Kofi Kingston gave their everything in a contest where we have witnessed a number of close near falls. In the end, the champions walked out off the match to get themselves counted out. The championships did not change hands, however.

After months of speculations, Maria and Mike Kanellis finally made their debut as part of the blue brand at the Money in the Bank PPV. The Diva mentioned herself as the first lady of the roster who has found out her true love in Mike. They embraced each other to close the segment.

Naomi vs. Lana (Smackdown Women’s Championship)

Naomi defended her Smackdown Women’s Championship in an entertaining matchup against Lana. The ravishing Russian performed some of her own solid moves in her debut match. Carmella interrupted teasing that she is going to cash in the Money in the Bank contract. This allowed Naomi to lock in the submission manoeuvre and pick up the win.

Breezango vs. The Ascension

Breezango squared off in a matchup against The Ascension since the latter assaulted them on Smackdown. The Fashion Police was able to earn a win in a quick matchup on the show by rolling one of their opponents up and get the pinfall.

Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship)

Legends including Randy Orton’s father, Bob Orton sat at the commentary table during the WWE championship match up. After connecting with the RKO, Orton was on the verge to pick up the win. The Sing Brothers interfered and put Jinder’s legs to the ropes.

Referee banned them from ringside but they decided to go after Bob Orton, instead. The Viper assaulted both of them in order to rescue his father. But, Jinder capitalised on the distraction by hitting the Cobra Clutch Slam and pick up the win.

Money in the Bank Contract for the WWE Championship

Prior to the main event of the night, Baron Corbin assaulted Nakamura while the latter was entering the arena. Hence, he was taken out of the match. But, he returned at one point in the matchup to put everyone down.

The finishing moments of the matchup witnessed Styles and Nakamura fighting it out on the ladder for the briefcase. Corbin came out of nowhere and shoved them off from the spot into the ropes. He climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase to become the Money in the Bank briefcase winner.
