Rusev was seen sporting a new look from the Fastlane PPV onwards. His long hair was gone much like to her wife, Lana who has done the same in recent past. Previously, it was thought that this new look is due to his newly launched gimmick, ‘handsome Rusev’.
But the backstage reports suggest something very different. According to Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE creative is not happy with this new look which brought him to the bad books of the company. Vince McMahon was irate after seeing this look.
This is the reason why he was booked in a squash match against Big Show at Fastlane. Furthermore, he was not booked for a Wrestlemania feud and disappeared from WWE television.
Why is everybody making a big deal of a simple haircut! It’s hair people calm down. Opposite Samson.

WWE has a policy where a superstar has to inform the authority before undergoing any sort of look change. This is to maintain the gimmick that the particular superstar is given. Rusev and Lana did not abide by the rules while doing this which dragged him into the WWE doghouse.
In addition, a further report suggested that Rusev recently tweeted out supporting the recently released WWE superstar, Jack Swagger. It is being said that the openly support to the former all-American was not taken lightly by the creative, at all. This added more backstage heat for the Bulgarian Brute.

Rusev’s misfortune does not end here since he is said to be suffering from a shoulder injury and there’s no update as of when he will return to the squared circle. Due to the already faced backlash from the creative, WWE might sideline him from Wrestlemania, as well.
If the WWE does ban him from performing at Wrestlemania then it’ll be quite unfortunate for a bonafide heel like him. His ally with Jinder Mahal failed to garner any sort of attention from the crowd. As for now, he is likely to perform in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
