WWE News: Becky Lynch Talks About First-Ever Ladder Match And Main Event Spotlight

When it comes to Becky Lynch, the WWE Universe always stands on their feet for her. Whenever she shows up in an arena for performing, the fans give her a warm welcome. This shows how much popularity she has among the mass audience in the WWE. It was also the same reason why she made history by becoming the first-ever Smackdown Women’s champion at last year’s Backlash PPV.
WWE creative was originally thinking to crown Nikki Bella with the inaugural championship. However, Becky Lynch was the flag-bearer of the Smackdown brand ever since the WWE Draft which turned out to be in her favour.
However, that momentum might have seen a halt to a certain extent with the success of Naomi and Alexa Bliss, who was moved to Raw. She is left out of the Smackdown women’s championship picture for quite a while now and not expected to be involved with new names available on the roster.
Meanwhile, The Irish Lass-kicker was part of another historical match at the recent bygone PPV. She competed in the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match alongside Charlotte, Carmella, Natalya & Tamina. In a recent interview, the straight-fire performer had some exciting words while talking about the match and its innovator:
“I think it was one of the writers or Road Dogg. I can’t be a hundred percent sure but I just know that it was one of those things where it was: “Are we sure we can do this?”, and then I think seeing the calibre of talent we have on SmackDown, they were like: “yes we can do this and yes it’s gonna be great!”
With this ladder match, comes the opportunity to main event a Smackdown PPV event, someday. So, Becky Lynch also named the opponent that she would love to face if the main event spotlight will be given to her:
“I would love to face Charlotte because I think that we have only begun to scratch the surface with our feud before Sasha came in so we never really got much of singles one and I would love that to be the main event in a Pay-Per-View.”
For now, there’s no chance of seeing it happen in the near future. Rather, Becky might be inserted into a feud against James Ellsworth and Carmella which might culminate at the Summerslam PPV.
