The WWE Raw 25th anniversary is going to be a one-of-a-kind show worth to remember for years to come.
As reported earlier, multiple legends from both male and female division have been confirmed to appear on the show. Names like The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Stone Cold have already been announced to appear, whereas, other veteran names also got announced to appear, recently.
The trusted shoulder of the company, Chris Jericho will be gracing the show with his presence, according to the confirmations from WWE’s social media handles. The veteran was out of the company for a one-off stint in Japan where he recently competed against Kenny Omega at the Wrestle Kingdom 12 PPV. Wiping out the rumours of performing some more time in the eastern region; the veteran will come back home on this upcoming episode of WWE Raw.
This would be his first appearance in the WWE after his short Smackdown stint that ended after losing his United States Championship at the hands of Kevin Owens. His contract was up with the company, and no renewal was made.
In addition, the deal with NJPW made his status in WWE in serious jeopardy.
With this announcement, it got confirmed that the former world champion will return just before Royal Rumble. The reports from wrestlingINC.com revealed some more update on this return. It stated that Chris Jericho would return despite a real deal between the two parties happening.
It is to be noted that the return announcement was made on a premature basis which is a clue that this is going to be just one-off appearance and not a lengthy stint just like he did back in 2016. So, this comeback does not confirm his presence at the Royal Rumble match on January 28th. More updates from the source suggested that Chris Jericho is a free agent, right now,
“The talk of Jericho appearing at RAW 25 goes back several months. New Japan Pro Wrestling officials also knew that Jericho would be appearing at RAW 25 when they recently worked with him. Jericho is not signed to any kind of exclusive NJPW contract, and he’s not currently signed to a WWE deal.”
However, talks might be going on between WWE and Jericho, right now to work throughout the Wrestlemania season. It can come to fruition, anytime soon considering that Y2J loves to work with Vince McMahon.
