Chris Jericho, one of the all-time greats and inventor of almost most of the things in WWE (according to him, of course) was interviewed by Jonathon Coachman at the ESPN’s Sportscenter’s ‘WWE Off the top rope’ segment where he opened up about multiple things in WWE. The nine-time Intercontinental shared some candid moments with the Coach where he opened up his involvement in the creation of the Money in the Bank ladder match which first took place at the Wrestlemania’s 21st edition, his match with AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 32 and current WWE Stars who has the potential to make it big.
Chris Jericho revealed that the original idea was to have a championship match on the next night of Wrestlemania 21 on Raw but the idea of the briefcase came across on its own and the unique plan was granted all of a sudden. Speaking of the same he remembered a moment from 2012 MITB ladder match when he was hanging with the briefcase with no ladder under him. He said the briefcase was on the verge to slip down before he somehow got his feet on a ladder.
Chris Jericho also talked about Wrestlemania 32 where he competed against AJ Styles. Since it was decided that the show is going to take place in Dallas, he wanted to become a part of it. Jericho also cherished the moments of working with AJ Styles and agreed that he is The Phenomenal One, indeed.
He spoke about his Wrestlemania 19 match with Shawn Michaels and mentioned that how the match was summoned around just 20 minutes. He was a great fan of HBK and enjoyed working with him as well as the Rock. The People’s champion, in his opinion, is an underrated in-ring worker due to his larger than life persona outside the ring.
While asked about the next big superstar in WWE, Jericho mentioned all his fellow superstars in the Money in the Bank ladder match. But, he especially mentioned Kevin Owens as an impressive performer and if given with the Money in the Bank briefcase, it would help him to become such a big star in WWE. Apart from Owens, he mentioned Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles who has the potential to make it big.
