John Cena is originally scheduled to return on December 26th in a house show at the Madison Square Garden in New York. But, as per the rumors he will be working in the last big PPV of the year, Survivor Series. This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Survivor Series PPV and the event will take place in Toronto, Canada on November 20th.
WWE is looking to pulling all the stops to make the event a success. We are just days away to officially know the main event of the night i.e. the dream match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. Apart from this match, there will be not one but three traditional Survivor Series match that will take place in the PPV. The matches will take place from the male, female and the tag team divisions from both the brands.
Now, we saw Stephanie McMahon saying to Jericho and Owens that he wants his two of the best athletes to be ready for the PPV. This means that one either Owens or Jericho should be the leader for Raw. On the other hand, AJ Styles should be the one to lead the blue brand since he is the one that runs the place, now. But, WWE might bring Cena to add complete new dimension to the match.
Even WWE analysts, Jerry Lawler and Booker T think that Cena is not suitable for the role since he is a part-timer, now. But, if Owens and Styles do lead their respective teams at Survivor Series then it’s obvious that the WWE World and Universal title will not be defended on that night. Hence it will be headlined by the growing rivalry between the two brands.

Meanwhile, we now know what is going to be the last stop before next year’s Wrestlemania. WWE Fastlane will take place in the month of March as the final one PPV before the biggest stage of them all. Also, Elimination chamber will be returning in the month of February.
