WWE News: Kairi Sane to Compete for the NXT Women’s Championship

Kairi Sane has become the first-ever winner of the Mae Young Classic tournament on this past Tuesday Night. She picked up a surprise win over the favourite from UFC, Shayna Baszler.

The news that Sane would take the win was broken first by ESPN. As expected, we did see the same during the taping from Las Vegas, Nevada. Following the match, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon came to the ring to give her a facilitation. Plus, she did receive yet another big match that can change her career.

According to the updates from WWE, Kairi Sane will compete at the NXT Women’s Championship match set to take place at the NXT Takeover, Houston in November. It will be the night before the Survivor Series PPV which will be last a dual brand event for this year. On 18th of the month, the special NXT event will be conducted at the Toyota Center.

We have only learned about the match, whereas, the details are yet to come. No hint was given, as of who is going to be her challenger in the contest. Check out the updates from WWE.com, here,

“WWE COO Triple H made the bombshell to ESPN just minutes after Sane stood tall in WWE’s historic 32-woman tournament. The news follows a whirlwind few weeks for the NXT Women’s Title that saw Asuka relinquish the coveted championship to pursue a new opportunity on Raw. The Empress of Tomorrow had held the title for a record 523 days, but now a new titleholder will be crowned on Saturday, Nov. 18.

With Sane slated to challenge for the title at TakeOver: Houston, the question remains who will The Pirate Princess be facing for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship?”

Apparently, the rumours suggest that there will be fatal-4-way or a multi-women match conducted at the said event. Kairi Sane will be one of the competitors in the match alongside some prominent faces from the NXT division. We might get to know more of this on the upcoming episodes of NXT.
