WWE News: NXT Title Match Had To Be Stopped Due To Excessive Bleeding
Jun 10, 2017 at 3:50 PM
The NXT women’s championship scene consists of three superstars, for now. The reigning champion, Asuka is involved in separate feuds with Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross for quite a long time. They had a triple threat matchup for the title at the NXT Takeover: Chicago with Asuka retaining it, once again.
The champion connected with a running knee to Riot and covered both of her opponents to get the pinfall. Now, with the three-way rivalry going on, it is quite evident that Asuka is facing his two opponents in singles matches at the NXT live events on a regular basis. During such a women’s title match, a mishap took place abandoning the match.
Ruby Riot and Asuka was fighting over the NXT women’s title at an NXT house show. The match took place at the UK Download Festival. At one point, Asuka shoved her opponent off into the steel stairs present at the ringside.
Riot’s forehead hit the steps badly leaving her in a busted situation. She started bleeding profusely following the incident and the official was forced to call it a halt so that the contender could have received medical attention.
Later, Ruby Riot appeared in a Facebook chat session with Kayla Braxton where she talked about the injury. Admitting the attack, she stated that The Empress of Tomorrow indeed had gone to an extreme level while slamming her into the unforgiven steel steps.
The bleeding was indeed serious and she needed to get five stitches in her forehead in order to stop the bleeding. But according to Riot, the incident has made her even stronger than ever. With this unfortunate incident occurring, she has been able to insert fear into Asuka. She is afraid of losing the title and the challenger looks to capitalise on it, at a certain point.
Yeah. Ruby Riot took a hard stair bump n blood was pouring from her. Had to stop it but she’s ok apparently.

The match was taped during WWE NXT’s tour to the United Kingdom, this week. It might be televised on a later date. The entire roster of the NXT has travelled to overseas to give the UK fans a treat. This is the tour where the show in Manchester was cancelled due to the terror attacks from last month.
